Lindsey Jost

Have you ever walked into a salon and tried to make small talk with the stranger making you beautiful? Awkward!

We know that choosing someone to take care of your bridal beauty routine takes time, patience, and a little leap of faith. We’re trying to make that leap a little less scary by inviting you to get to know some of our beauty wizards er – we mean, artists.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Jost, Team Carue’s go-to gal for pampering before the big day. We asked Lindsey a few “getting to know you” questions, and thought we’d share the answers here.

What is your role in Team Carue?

I provide professional Airbrush and Contouring Make-up Applications, Lash Lifts, Organic Spray Tan’s, Relaxing Chair Massage, Gel Manicures, Pedicures and Dipped Nail Service’s.

How did you decide that Weddings By Carue was right for you?

I wanted to join Weddings by Carue because I love Carissa’s concept and her joy for what she does. I also enjoy being a part of someone’s special day, it is such a blessing.

What do you love most about the wedding industry?

I love how there are endless possibilities, looks, colors and themes that brides request. It’s fun to apply new trends, classic or vintage look.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My FAVORITE part of my job is making people smile and feel beautiful about themselves.

When you aren’t working, what’s your favorite thing to do?

I love the outdoors and warm sun!  Kayaking and swimming on the river or lake is a great day!

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I see myself successful and thriving in my business while doing what I love at the same time.

Who is your ideal couple/client?

That crazy fun “I want you to do your thing” type client is my favorite especially when I get to do free handed nail art or surprise them with a makeover.  There are so many amazing techniques you can use on a blank canvas.

Who do you feel you can help the most?

I feel like anyone who is willing to open their arms to me and trust me. I am willing to make them feel extra special and pampered. It is truly rewarding.

What is your favorite invitation style?

I love a vintage, classic style of wedding invitation. I’ve always appreciated the nostalgic look so to speak.

Three Things To Know Before You Order Invitations

It seems like a natural move to start wedding planning by picking out invitations. After all, they are the first thing your guests will see that gives a glimpse into the theme and style of your wedding. However, before you meet with a representative, there are a few pieces of information that will make your meeting easier and more productive.

Know Your Information

Making sure you have confirmed the time and date with your venue is recommended when selecting invitations, simply because you may want the formality of the venue to be reflected in your design. For instance, an outdoor venue may require a less formal invitation than a wedding being performed in a traditional church.

Three Tips To Make The Most Of Your Next Wedding Expo

team-bride-wedding-expo

January and February are filled with opportunities to think about your wedding. The New Year signals the start of crunch time for June brides, while giving a bench mark for those just beginning to plan.

The wedding industry has made the planning timeline a little more efficient by organizing wedding expos across the country, bringing together local vendors with the purpose of making it easier to connect with couples.

Despite the intention of making things easier, expos can be slightly overwhelming. There are hundreds of people moving from vendor to vendor, and there isn’t a lot of time to stop and discuss details.

These ladies are teaming up to plan a wedding at the Z102.9 Bridal Showcase in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Why Social Media Should Be A Part Of Your Wedding Day

When it comes to social media and wedding days there are two camps: the “capture the moment” camp,

and the “live the moment” camp.

We’re here to propose a third camp. The camp that has goose-down comforters and really cute scarves to wear by the fire someone else builds (we obviously prefer glam-ping.) Our stance is, social media has become integrated into our very lives for a reason – everyone wants to be connected. So, why can’t we have both? A social media-friendly wedding is totally possible and it begins with the happy couple making it intentional.

It begins with a #hashtag.

There are some really big benefits to incorporating social media into your wedding preparation, especially if you have friends and family who are unable to attend and still want to feel included. Creating a hashtag for everyone to use when posting pictures of your bridal shower, bachelorette, etc. are great ways of getting a variety of pictures and not worrying about losing them to the Internet.

One way to keep your snap-happy guests in check is to create a reminder to leave the ceremony and first dance pictures to the professionals. This way your photographer can get the angles you want without worrying about phone flashes and stray hands in otherwise picture-perfect shots.
