When Justine contacted us about her idea for unique and budget-friendly wedding invitations, we were thrilled. “I knew from the beginning that I wanted very unique invitations but didn’t want to pay the high prices to have someone do it for me,” Justine said. Helping clients take a project from conception to completion is one of the best parts of what we do. “All of the staff at Weddings by Carue strives to get you exactly what you are looking for!  They are very conscious of staying within your budget and offer suggestions of how to achieve that. They work until your design is absolutely perfect and just what you imagined,” Justine said. The couple’s colors, charcoal and coral, were a perfect mix of formality and boldness that inspired us from the start.

Our recommendation to clients is to imagine what their invitations will be like for guests to receive and open.

Justine was inspired by sites like Pinterest, Etsy, and Wedding Paper Divas, and then brought her ideas to us in order to create exactly what she was looking for. “I combined design ideas from outside sources with my own creativity to create my own unique invitation,” Justine said. When focusing on the message of the invitation, we assisted in reflecting the couple’s personality instead of sticking to traditional and formal wording.

Formal invitations often include a variety of components like an RSVP card, directions, registry information, etc. If you’re looking for ways to cut down on cost without sacrificing quality, we recommend cutting unnecessary information and paper. For example, using an RSVP postcard saves on postage and the need for an envelope. Directions can be found with GPS and aren’t really needed in the invitation. Keeping invitations simple is a cost-effective solution that is budget friendly and good for the environment!

In order to cut costs, Justine purchased the paper and handled the assembly. “I went to a few different craft stores to find the best deals on the materials I was looking for.  I ended up getting all of the scrapbook paper and glitter ribbon from Hobby Lobby.  I would wait until they would run a sale on them and then stock up! “ Justine said. She used the charcoal and coral colors in the wedding décor and added depth with textures like satin, lace, pearls, and “a touch of bling.” The combination creates a balance of creativity and formality that is truly one-of-a-kind.

We asked Justine what advice she would give to brides about creating invitations. “Stick to your budget,” She said. “There are a lot of ways to create your perfect invitation and still stay within your budget.  By adding a little hard work and a lot of love into your invites through D.I.Y. projects, they are economical and completely unique and exclusive to your big day!”

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding Justine and Maxwell, we wish you the best!
